This medallion shows the emblem of the British American Ambulance Corps, a cruciform medal in magenta and gold, with the title encircling a graphic combination of the flags of the United States and Great Britain in red, white and blue.

Arthur Szyk held two exhibitions to benefit the British American Ambulance Corps during World War II: one at the Knoedler Art Galleries, New York, May 22 to June 7, 1941; the other at the Whyte Gallery, Washington, D.C., January 6 to January 31, 1942.
